Thanks so much answering my post.
One thing she did receive was praise for her conditioning, effortless movement
and good temperament and she was 18 months when we started. Trust me, with
working dogs, conditioning is one of the most important things in considering a
dog to breed on with, if they can't handle a vigorous lifestyle they are
useless as 8 hour a day police dogs whose whole life is "adrenaline bursts".
She did have a very plain head, feminine but plain and a slightly wide earset,
but boy what a body. I remember in my handling classes with her, teaching her
to set-up, the judge/handler teaching the class walked over, said do this and
that, and wow! what a beauty, even he was impressed, he loved her...she is my
only true regret that I didn't have the money for a pro, I will always feel
that my being a nobody cost her what she deserved.
She is the main reason I stopped showing seriously in the AKC, my other dogs
did well in their classes but I knew it would take a looooong time with them,
if ever, LOL she on the other hand, she was a champion...that's why I
appreciate the SV system, I can get a show rating of my dog's conformation and
if my dog is a "V" dog, it gets the "V" rating, maybe not "V1", but at least a
rating of what it's conformation deserves, kind of like obediance or agility, I
may not be High In Trial, but at least I can earn a qualifying score.
I appreciate all of you who have sacrificed your money and time to get your
championships, I really do, 'cause it really cost you. Me? I wanted other
things more, and that's ok, too.
