I have remained silent for far too long during all of this nonsense on the
list that is aimed at me personally and my daughter, Tiffany.
I was the person, who asked my daughter, if she would show the dog that
evening, due to the fact that Alex couldn't make that weekend. He was scheduled
to
fly and spend a weekend with my family and visit our home and we were going to
go to this one show where he was to show this dog for Kathy, as he had done
in the past.
Alex had a business meeting come up for that weekend, he is in real estate,
and had to remain in Puerto Rico due to a prospective buyer had decided to come
and look at a real estate opportunity that Alex had been working on.
We were saddened that Alex couldn't come, but decided that I (Bart) would go
ahead and try to show the dog at that show. I took with me my clothes to show
in.
I decided that, one hour or so before the show, I could not show the dog, as
my knee was inflamed, swollen and was hurting me. I then, asked Tiffany if
she could show the dog that one time, we were to let Alex bill Kathy.
It was a small show and there weren't alot of choices.
I considered it a favor to another handler as has been done so many times,
helping other handlers who couldn't show due to an injury or due to a flight
problem, but the scheduled handler still bills the client for their dog being
shown.
I remember George Bersler in Minn./St. Paul fell off a plane and couldn't
show, we, the handlers handled his dogs for him and he billed the clients. It's
one of the few things we can do for our fellow handlers. There have been many
more incidents, including myself where other handlers cover for each other.
Tiffany has never before, nor since handled for Kathy Potter, Not once.
This dog had only been handled by Mike Sherman, George Berstler, Alex, and
myself.
When I heard that there was controversy about Tiffany taking in this dog I
did two things, contacted Kathy Potter and made her aware of the situation, and
then we contacted the futurity chairman. She followed the rules and contacted
AKC for a determination. (Please read Nancy Harper's post)
I'm sure that some of you will continue to attempt to cause a controversy
because that is what drives you.
I feel that alot of this controversy has been generated for alterior
motives.All I can say is my character and honor are in tact!
