This is taken directly from the rules
Section 7. Eligibility of Dog. Each dog entered in a
regular Junior Showmanship Class must be of a breed
eligible to compete in the conformation classes (including
Miscellaneous Classes) at the event. Dogs may be
PAL/ILP, Full-, or Limited-Registered to compete in
Junior Showmanship Classes, additionally, spayed and
neutered specimens are eligible for competition. Breeds
excluded from competition at the event are not eligible.
The dog must be entered in one of the classes associated
with the event or must be entered for Junior
Showmanship only.
It makes not one bit on since to me that a mixed breed dog with an ILP or
PAL can compete but NOT a dog that has a specailty 60miles away. I think
they need to look at the rules and fix that sentance. How is it that a dog
with an ILP could be eligable for a conformation class? This sentance needs
to go "Breeds excluded from competition at the event are not eligible."
