If I help to load a major I do so with good dogs. I loaded a major at one show
at a specialty weekend a short time ago and the judge from the day before told
people I had put my fillers in to help build the major. I just laughed. My
fillers consisted of a Best Opposite Futurity Bitch, A Reserve Futurity Male, a
bitch with 9 points (1 major) and a Reserve Best in Maturity. If I am going to
help build a major, I am going to do so with competitive dogs. <G>. Sometimes
people have to get together to build a major, so few people are showing dogs in
this area. JMO Ann

breeder of the dog said he was mediocre so let's not create a fairy tale
situation where one doesn't exist. We need people to support shows for
majors..but we need them to do so with good dogs. I would rather judge a
class of 4 where all could potentially go Select or at least finish easily
than find a standout in an otherwise poor entry. Nothing is more exciting
than to be at a show where the judge has to work several animals because
each is good and on any day could be worthy of the win. Christine
