How would you feel about taking the American Grand Victor to Canada, and go
second in the Open Dog Class?
Reply: One person's Grand Victor can be another persons "non winner." As a
judge that did not select last years Grand
Victor for a Select rating, I don't find that unusual. We as judges give
our opinions as it relates to the standard and as
it relates to our preferences and beliefs in that standard. I am known for
liking a "pretty dog." Other judges prefer a dry dog with a hard working
outline. Both of us are correct, and luckily for the exhibitors and
breeders, different dogs win on different days.
A title, even that of Grand Victor, is one persons opinion on one day. I
think it's grate that we get to have many opinions!
