I've been trying to get through all this mail. We just got home last night
after driving to Texas (takes 2 1/2 days). We took a couple hours to tour
the Vicksburg Battlefield on the way home. That was very interesting.
First, thanks to all who sent their congratulations on the President's
Award. I am very honored to have received it.
Second, it was a really nice National. Everyone was friendly and things
went well. I think I personally enjoyed it more because I am walking better
than the previous few years and didn't need my hiking stick all the time!!
As to the above and WDA - yes it is the GSDCA -WDA. However, it is two
organizations with separate by-laws. The WDA provides the GSDCA with the team
to
compete in the World Trials. Those people have to be members of the GSDCA
in order to compete. Many of the WDA members are also members of the GSDCA
but it is not required for WDA membership. Just like many GSDCA members are
also members of WDA but that too is not required for membership in the GSDCA.
Re judges for WDA - the North American Sieger Show is probably the one for
WDA that is comparable to our National. I don't recall ever voting for a
judge for that. I think the judge is probably selected by the Board.
