[ SHOWGSD-L ] Why even become a judge?

And, that is the best part of judging. After the show a number of people
talk to each other about why you did what you did, and only a few believe it
is
because you did the best you could do. You never bill the club for all your
expenses, and parking now at the airport is often fifty dollars or more. You
get a stale sandwich in the terminal for ten dollars. No one pays to clean
the clothes you wear, or the gas to get to and from the airport. Months later
you begin to hear about those you missed, and why you didn't put them up.
Anyone who judges does it because they feel they owe it owe it to the sport.
Few would think it gives them any advantage.
I got a judges license so that Tedi would stop holding it over me that she
had one. She is now trying to grow a mustache. I win that one, so far.
