I can fly from Detroit to Salt Lake City and back for $359 or I can fly from
milwaukee to detroit to Salt Lake City and back for $222. What is wrong with
this picture?

This is an interesting trick Steve showed me.
If you book two one way tickets, you often can save a lot of money. I
always believed that if you booked a round trip it was cheaper. Evidently
without much notice the practice has changed.
