Diane,
I have obviously not made myself very clear. So please bear with me here.
First we always have a victory dinner in this case the victory dinner would
have extra attractions added to it such as a dance and band after the
dinner.
If however, by beginning of year 2013 we do not have the money in hand
to hire a band we won't have one. But we will still have the banquet and
that room
for the banquet will have been reserved as usual. I am happy to report that
the
facility we have toured has GUARANTEED US the same food prices as they have
this year for
2013 and they are quite reasonable and in a beautiful country club with
plenty of room.
We are planning a celebration on Friday night to honor dogs and people, if
that event
is not covered by end of 2012 we will not plan on having it. That event
will be at the
Host hotel which will work with us on it.
Diane I have been involved in Hotel Management for years, including large
banquets, dinners, cocktail
Parties, rooms blocks etc. I am very familiar with the requirements - we
will have our exhibitors
at the host hotel which means additional revenue for the hotel in rooms,
beverages and meals.
Hotels take this into consideration when the 'group' uses banquet rooms for
events which are accompanied by revenue producing cash flow such as cash
bars.
The last thing I will see happen is to put the members club put in a
compromised
Financial situation.
There appears to be a general lack of confidence in the ability of the
Centennial committee to
act in a responsible manner. I hope the explanation puts you & other at
ease.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have, I will answer them
honestly and openly.

you aren't the only one living in the state of confusion, ileana. in
planning events, one often has to make deposits on venues, rentals etc. in
order to secure their availability. these deposits are normally required
well
in advance of the event itself. how can you then go looking for sponsors
for events you have planned and say that, if you don't find sponsors, these
events won't be "executed?" would the club then be in the position of
forfeiting deposits?
