I agree with Syd, it is just bad sportsmanship. We live in rural western 
Colorado. In a 350 mile circle around us there are only two shows that make 
majors consistently every year. Expand that to 400 miles and we have four. 
It is so much time, effort, and money just to get single points out here 
that I cannot imagine taking someone else's chance away by continuing on in 
the small shows. If your dog is ready to be a champion you need to prove it 
at a major. Not on the off chance of a Group 1 win. And I think the "fun of 
it" is half the point, Sportsmanship and good fellowship are the other half 
all blended with a love of being around German Shepherds.
