The futurity committee is always open to new ideas. What do you think the
requirements of a non-licensed judge should be?

Carolyn- I could not agree with you more. Although I am doing a Futurity this
year, it has always been my belief that AKC recognized judges should not be
allowed to judge our futurities. I feel it is a great honor to be selected to
judge a futurity and accepting that honor is very fulfilling as a judge. The
futurities are supposed to be a breeders showcase and I think breeders should
judge the futurities. The present requirements to judge a futurity are much
too
restrictive and need revision. Many people who disagree with me point out the
occasional disaster futurity when judged by a novice judge. What about the
disaster when a recognized judge does a futurity? This is something the
Futurity Committee should consider e.g. changing the judging requirements.
