Put your leather leashes in a plastic bag and liberally cover them with
Neatsfoot Oil (available at leather/saddle shops). Let them sit over night
marinating in the bag. Wipe off the oil with a rag and hang them out to drip
dry for a few days - from a nail in the garage works....they should be soft and
supple.....but don't expect to use them for a few months as initially they will
be very greasy feeling.
You can also use a product called Leather New....follow the directions on the
bottle.

On another note, has anyone had any luck with the lixit cage waterer's? I'm
so sick of the stainless steel buckets, they are impossible to keep clean
and they are so dangerous. I am really looking for an alternative method for
water source while the dogs are in at night.
