Ahh, the imports! Now that is another one that really gets me. I am just
waking up and warming up, folks. While we are talking supply and demand we
are seeing our country being inundated with puppies from everywhere in the
world. Well, that at least should take care of our demand, don't you think?
But no - because our own people take puppies and sell them in other
countries as far as China. If the demand here is so great then why are they
being shipped elsewhere? Big question, huh?

If HSUS put their money into actually "helping" improve the status of
animals, rather than using the issues to raise money and to create more
legislation, it would be great.
My question continues. From where should all the pups that the public want
, come? USDA should have more $$, to have more inspectors. But think of
where the pups are being raised that are being imported? Legally and
illegally. That scares me more than the commercial breeding. Our dogs do
not need the unknown diseases and now rabies being reintroduced.
Is there a good answer? Probably not.

I believe both side are right - to a point. While I think that Petland does
take care of their animals in regards to health issues I also believe that
all or most of these puppies originated from puppy mills. We all know that.
It is interesting to know that HSUS is showing its true colors and I wonder
how long it takes the general public to discover this - and mostly those who
have supported their "cause" for so long with mega bucks.
