The AKC frowns upon judges simply clapping for other dogs. I can't imagine
the AKC would think that promoting dogs on a public list, that they neither
own or co-own would be appropriate.If a judge wants to discuss who he
likes, what he doesn't like about a dog amongst peers, no problem, but
being a promoter in a public forum is a bit different. On another thread I
addressed how many think the rules are only for others and not for them.
Here is another we can add to the list. One other I forgot to mention was
judges who train and condition dogs they don't own or co-own and then
blatantly double them. the owners in turn brag on the list about how
wonderfully the judge trained, groomed and conditioned their dog! doesn't
matter if the judge is the breeder of the dog, if they don't own it, then
it is my understanding that this is a no-no. I suppose people have gotten
by with doing as they wish for so long in the breed, that they brazenly
think nothing of putting what they are doing wrong in print! When enough
people finally get sick and tired of the crap, they will start taking the
appropriate actions to see that it stops.If that means forwarding public
e-mails to the AKC to let them decide if the judge is acting prejudicial to
the sport, then so be it. Until then, we will continue to lose more
exhibitors in the sport. Christine
