You do need to be a breeder to have the knowledge of pedigrees
or research lines to find good health and sound temperament
in a puppy. As anyone can breed 2 GSD's together to produce a litter
as very few dogs will not co-operate. However your right that does
not make them a good breeder. Years of success of producing puppies
with few health issues and sound temperament proves it all.
If a young GSD passes away with no reason mentioned if you
see other related dogs did too it should make you question their health
and why. Most owners tell of how they lost their GSD if you ask
and then if you research the pedigree you can find answers.

Though I'm not a breeder, I research lines and pedigrees and do my very best to
select puppies with good health and good temperament on both sides.
Just because one CAN breed a litter doesn't mean one SHOULD.
