I think we all have a long list of embarassing moments. my first was at an
AB in 1983 - i tore my pantyhose setting up crates so asked around to see if
anyone had an extra pair. one lady was kind enough to hand me a brand new
pair.
stupid me, i never looked at the package. she was a lot bigger than i was
but i didn't think that would be a problem as we all know what pantyhose look
like when you take them out of the package. well, i put them on and went into
the ring. long story short, i won the class, went WB and BOB. that meant
quite a few trips around the ring. with each trip around, the panty hose slid
down a little. by the time we went BOB, the waistband was around my knees. i
thanked the judge and waddled out of the ring to take off the pantyhose. when
i looked at the tag, they were not only XL but support hose. apparently, if
they aren't your size, they migrate, looking for something to support!
to top myself, i took a sirocco dau into am bred at the '84 national ... yes,
the one outdoors in tempe. it was hot. i am NOT a distance runner. who
KNOWS what i was thinking. after a few laps, i was begging bob penny, who was
behind me, to PLEASE not step on my would-be-dead body when i went down, which
i
knew was inevitable. when we did our individual, i asked the late harry
schneider, who was judging bitches, to either put me up or DUMP ME NOW! he
looked
at me and laughed, ... said he'd never had the particular request before. i
really did not think i'd outlive the length of that class. learned my lesson!
from that day on, i was very happy (and safe) watching gail or jerry with my
dogs!
