Where do I start on this....
Probably the most embarrassing and my reality check for NOT showing dogs with
perfect temperaments. I showed a kind of screwy 10 month old male and we were
at the National. He was fine for Futurity and Sweeps, but our judge for the
regular classes only had one arm due to Polio. Well, Parker wanted NOTHING to
do with that and barked the entire time we were in the ring - and I mean barked
like he was going to kill her. Finally excused myself...
I had a beaded necklace fall apart in the group ring after a dog grabbed it -
100's or what seemed like 100's of little beads falling and bouncing on the
floor.... Took a while to find them all - and I wear nothing like that now.
Had a dog who decided that while we were in the group ring, the table was in
his way and he jumped up on the table and jumped off while on a go around.. Of
course everyone laughed and we got a Group 4 out of it.
I fell on a dog in the breed ring and almost flattened her - worst part about
it is I was staying with friends and they caught it on their video camera so I
had to relive the moment over and over and over.
I was bringing our BIS dog Morris up to ringside and instead of waiting
patiently while I picked up armbands, he decided to leap up on the stewards'
table and then walk across to the table in the breed ring. Not so bad except
the breed a head of us was still in there.
I could post a whole lot more than just that :-) I wish newbies could
understand that if you show long enough, everything happens :-)
