Why bother wasting one's time and money competing where one can't win? Banning
others is an unacceptable alternative. We must all learn to have fun in this
sport and also in our lives. All this elitism just causes stress and is cruel
to too many people.

Paula, I think you've twisted some of the points people tried to make.
Border Collies tend to be pretty superior in the agility
ring........they are smart and fast, and do better than a lot of other
breeds. Now please don't make a list of others breeds that do well, I
already know lots of them do...have friends with lots of various breeds of
dog that get all kinds of agility titles.
The point is that if people can take a mix that really excells, there
will be no need to try to win with a purebred.........this is a concern many
who actually take part in these competitions have expressed....not an
original thought with me or anyone else on this list. They aren't afraid of
being bested...but if this stuff was conceived for purebred dog owners to
do, it should be left to them.
Bad enough AKC was willing to give titles to mutts in their own
competitions...now they are going to compete with purebreds...whether they
get their entries in or not isn't the point.
