Well...my understanding of RRONR, esp. chapter 20 (XX) is that in order to
remove an elected officer, if the bylaws simply establish a fixed term for that
officer, then
the group* must use formal disciplinary proceedings involving the
apapointment of an investigating committee, that committee must prefer charges,
and there must
be a formal trial. The procedure as outlined in RRONR is extremely complex.
Have any of these steps been taken? If not, if the Board simply
requested a resignation from an officer and that officer refused to submit such
resignation,
then the above procedures must be followed. By then, we will be involved in
a new election of officers anyway.
*it is not clear whether the "group" can be defined as the remaining
officers, or if it must be the electing body.........that is, the membership.
Someone who knows more about parliamentary procedures and RRONR, please
correct me if I'm wrong............
