While it may be true that the disease is not indefinitely controllable, the
rate of progression is case by case. I am not a physician, so am not qualified
to discuss the disease or the prognosis, and I am not talking about superficial
social situations - currently Gail is the same Gail we have all known and
respected for so long. Talk to her. See for yourself.

I would guess she's on Arricet which was available when my husband was ill,
but he was too far advanced when it came out.
It does help for awhile, but Alzheimer's is not a disease you can "control"
for a long period. While the medication can help her cope, the disease will
continue to progress, regardless. I will call her though, but again,
understand that this is one of those superficial social situations to which I
referred and that most Alzheimer's patients are so adept at handling until
very
late in the disease.
