I have to admit, I did feel the same way. I was pleased to see the lifetime
members and I remember riding on a cart with members who were 50 plus years,
(Bob Penny, Helen Fisher). The club honored them with membership with no dues.
It strikes me odd that now we are going to change that, and charge $45.00 a
year for the magazine.
There can't be that many people who have maintained their membership for 40
years, and who will live long enough to cause a financial burden on the club.
When I become a lifetime member, I promise not to live that much longer so as
to harm the finances of this club.
I felt similar when I saw the GSDCA gave $100.00 to the winners of the Junior
Handlers. I did do something about that on my own, and it was not easy to get
the GSDCA to allow me to do it. Thanks to Frank and the board, a majority
allowed me to do it. This year a club even made a donation.
Be sure to send in anything you can to the Juniors. I have been so busy this
year, I haven't been able to beg donations. I am depending on the kindness of
strangers.

I will be a lifetime member of the GSDCA in a few short years. I LOVE THE
REVIEW magazine. I got the membership changes e-mail, which states that
lifetime members will only get the online Review free; the printed magazine
will be $45 a year. Who was the idiot who thought up THIS brilliant idea? Just
found a reason NOT to renew. What a reward for 40 year members. This seems like
a concerted effort to 1. get rid of older members or 2. get rid of the printed
Review. Sucks to be me or anyone else who has stuck through this club through
thick and thin.
