Do you know what it takes to be approved to judge juniors,
you have to ask for it.
I don't think this is so true any more - they are making it very difficult to
get juniors now?espically all breed Juniors - it is much easier to get Juniors
in your breed.? Then getting?past the provisionals is difficult because many
clubs aren't offering?Jr's at their shows and if you are on limited status that
is the only place you can judge them . . . . Junior Showmanship has gotten very
competitive - the Juniors really know their stuff and the judge has to also -
perhaps we should incourage more people to judge them by offering some
education on judging them . . .

I find this sad. Do you know what it takes to be approved to judge juniors,
you have to ask for it. AKC will approve any judge who asks for juniors. I
find it appalling that people are wanting to judge the National, but don't
want to take the time to judge juniors. I frequently hear...O I just don't
want to hurt anyone's feelings. That is a crock! Perhaps the parent club
should stipulate to judges who want to be nominated to judge the national that
they are required to do juniors if asked. I'll bet more would suddenly care
then.
