Basically, that’s ConsumerFreedom/HumaneWatch. They have that awesome video
Lawyers In Cages that came out a few years ago. Wish they would do another
blockbuster like that!

It’s great that they have enlarged their audience by bulk mailers!!!

It happens about two days ago I received a postcard from a placed called CORE
(Center for Organizational Research and Education) based in DC. The front of
the card showed a PO'd cat with the comment, "She's Ticked". Below the
ticked cat it said, "The Humane Society of the United States raised over $100
million but gave almost none of that to pet shelters in New Mexico. In fact,
when I went to their site it said NM got 0%.
On the back of the postcard were listed the first two of 10 reasons not to
donate to the Humane Society of the United States. I hadn't checked their
site until this morning. I happened to be on the web page of a Surrey,
England breeder, yes, England. Guess what was on his site, yes, a banner for
the HSUS. After seeing that, I went to the website on the postcard.
I checked out CORE's site to find out about them:
"Turning information into action.
The Center for Organizational Research and Education (CORE) is a 501(c)(3)
nonprofit dedicated to research and education about a wide variety of
activist groups, exposing their funding, agendas, and tactics."
If you check out their site, you will see they aren't just focused on animals
or just one category, but across a variety of categories. There was another
interesting tidbit about HSUS on their site:
"The dog-watchers at the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) need
their own watchdog too. HSUS now has an annual budget around the size of an
NFL payroll. It has become too big and too unaccountable. Someone has to pay
closer attention."
It also turns out that CORE ran an ad during the Oscars which I didn't watch
but I hope millions did. More about that here:

If you are supporting the HSUS by donating or displaying their banners, you
might wish to reconsider. Please check out this link:

I can't remember their name, but there was another similar organization out
east... Something like Coastal or New England or something with a NE angle
to it.
I have always believed personally in giving directly vs. through fund raising
organizations as they always get a cut, from a very small to a very large
percentage diminishing the value of your donation while lining their own
pockets.
