Kathy,
When people want to come and meet the dogs, I will let them IF we are
going to have a litter and "the family" wants to see the good
temperament and positive qualities of the dam. Since I don't have
litters very often (3+ years and counting), it hasn't happened at all
recently. Like you, I have a real life and real work, which includes
horses as well as dogs. When I AM having a litter however, I screen
people. And when kids don't listen to their parents, they don't get a
puppy from me. I will NOT tolerate bad behavior in children OR
adults--LOL. When I lived in NY, I would invite prospective "clients"
to dog shows, to see my dogs in action. I thought I might be able to
interest them in buying a show prospect, becoming a member of the
GSDCA or just introducing them to the world of purebred dogs.
