We ran into a similar experience only it involved the actual dogs. They came out to inspect us after severe hail damage and "noticed" that we had a German Shepherd (and then heard another dog). I had to write several letters and proof that the dogs had never bitten anyone, etc... Big hassle. Re: signs. According to most insurance companies, you are NOT supposed to have any signs that might indicate that there are aggressive dogs on the property. IF your dog should bite someone, those signs would be used as proof that you KNEW that the dog was aggressive and was a liability. We have a GSD crossing sign at the beginning of the driveway and our agent said that was perfectly acceptable.
