Well, I cannot see the city or whatever being able to do something about the
2 shepherds killing this small dog that entered THEIR property. I was always
told when something like this happens in the death of another animal, that
animal whether a cat, dog or rabbit is only treated like the value of a
couch? Unless this law has changed or possibly different in each state? Our
K-9 Ofc. said I should be displaying a sign on my house/fence "Beware of
Dog." But I always thought if you did that then you are telling the
public/friends/enemies you have an issue or possible issue to be aware of
your dog/s. Now if you have a sign "Beware of Guard Dog" that's more
serious. I was told then you know your dog WILL or CAN bite if threatened.
Then if taken to court you can be fined or whatever comes with that because
you KNEW of a possible issue with your dog/s because of the warning sign.
Hey, what's the right thing to do. How many people have warning signs? I
know a lot of people that put up those signs & don't have dogs. It possibly
a great deterrence for bad people. And we sure have enough of them. Kathy

This is happening when they pass "dangerous dog" laws/ordinances.
They don't specify, and when they write that any dog that attacks
another animal is declared dangerous, they simply don't think
ahead. AND they don't understand animal behavior. They also don't
usually cover when a dog attacks a human with cause. (Thieves sue the
homeowner when the dog attacks the intruder!!!) Knee jerk laws with
unintended consequences, and innocent animals and innocent people
suffer.
