Hi everyone Some time ago I wrote to the list about a bitch I have that has had problems getting pregnant. The most common answer was that she may have mycoplasma. After another unsuccessful mating at that time, I decided I would go for surgical implants this time. She had a progesterone test done on day 5, and the vet said that she was actually ovulating already. Day 7 she spiked at 47, and the surgical implant was done. I also asked him to swab her for infection and for mycoplasma. Got the first results today from the mycoplasma swab - she tested positive. :( My question is - any of you that have encountered this infection, what did you do - and did the bitch get/stay pregnant with no adverse effect on the litter??????? My vet (a repro. specialist) is contacting a manufacturer of some antibiotics that will kill the micoplasma, but he is not certain that it will not have an adverse effect on the pregnancy (if there is one).
