I just have to put my 2 cents worth in on this subject of photo's.
Photo's can be very decieving and you will be decieved if you don't
understand this. Just grooming can change things. Even the shoulder can
look different in a photo than it really is. If you took the same dog
stacked and took 5 or 6 different shoots at different angles you could
get real big differences. I'd love to see a web site of photo's of
different dogs unnamed and lets get our opinions. I think we would be
surprised. My Aunna had a beautiful neck but in 1 photo it looked short.
It's hard to see the shoulder on a standing dog let alone a photo. The
color can make it look good or bad.

i did speak for myself, i said "i know first hand a photo of a dog can
not
tell the full story", i will share why...
i have living proof my own female as a matter of fact. i have a photo
of
her and it shows her having a croup, and i know she NEEDS croup.. big
time lol
another example there is a famous dog in Germany, there is a photo of
him
on the pedigree site and the pictures shows awful croup... and in person
and in
his critiques world wide they outright state, "very good croup, very
correct
placing" and my best friend saw the dog in Germany 3 times and told me
specifically the dogs croup was dead on.. because i said "look at that
pic, the
dog has no croup" well thats when i got my second lecture on dogs and
pictures
lol
actually... maybe if i have the time i will make a few webpages and add
anonymous photos of dogs that are top winning and in person where folks
have seen
these dogs that look much better in person. then see what folks think.
i cant
commit to this but i can try ;) this is a good learning topic about
photos.
and i am sure some can look at one photo and see 5 different results
too
