Weren't the requirements for AOE originally proposed as requirements for
Select? I believe the title was created because most of the membership were
opposed to limiting the dogs that could compete as specials in the National?

The AOE (Award of Excellence) already provides for a performance title to be
in place, which of course includes herding titles, as well as OFA and
Temperament Testing. Sound like a good thing to me. Yet, it is an optional
award of distinction rather than a requirement for the conformation award of
Select. Having a dog awarded for each area of accomplishment sounds better
to me than requiring that all excel at everything. I certainly don't.....
