It was exciting. In broad daylight some idiot smashed the window in Erin
Nellis' van, and grabbed her purse. Majdi Khatib saw it and chased after the
getaway car, but was unable to stop them. I do wonder what he would have done
if they had stopped and gotten out and asked what he wanted?
The next day, about 8:00 am, the thieves returned. Evidently they had the keys
so they thought no one would notice if they drove off with the van. It had her
dogs in the back and when some of the dog folks saw Erin's van start, they
rushed over. I guess the thief didn't think all the dog people milling about
knew whose van it was. I was told that Nancy McDonald yelled at the jerk and
he got out and tried to show her he had the keys, and it was his car. When
that didn't work, he threw the keys and ran. Picture Nancy at about 5'2, and
this jerk at over 6 ft. Amy Kaiser and Nancy chased him to the getaway car. I
talked to Amy and she was upset because she didn't have her knife. Being in the
Navy for a career, she always carries a knife.
The police had his finger prints from the back of the van where he closed it,
and the license plate of his car, so I suspect it won't be hard to find him.
I have this visual of Nancy yelling at this gang banger. Nancy told me she was
staring at his chest as he towered over her.
Other than that, it was a great weekend. Having Ken Tank, Jerry Guzman and Joan
Fox do your shows is a "hat trick" for quality. We took and showed Way To
Go,(totally out of coat), to make sure it was a major and she went reserve
winner's bitch looking like a hairless dog.
Kierk took two Selects to end his show career, and he and Summer are retired
for that combination in the ring.
Thom took Breed all three shows, and looks like a candidate for Grand Victor,
some time soon. What a great dog.
I hope everyone had a good time. The clubs worked hard to make it fun with a
small entry, but with a Special's Class of 14. It dropped on Sunday but was
still eleven. Thanks to everyone who made it fun and to the Khatibs who were
everywhere doing the work.

early Sunday morning when a thief tried to steal an
SUV with dogs in it.
Nancy McDonald ran over to the SUV and yelled at the thief
until he gave up
and vacated the vehicle. Then she was joined by Amy Kaser
Nicoles and the
two of them chased the thief and were able to get the license
number of the
getaway vehicle. You don't mess with dogs when these two heroic
handlers are
around!!
