Oh Sue, so George made a stupid comment about "paying dues" at Del Valley's
dinner. So what? Wasn't there but have been to my share and alcohol was
involved lol, I am certain. If you don't like George, don't use George.
I sure haven't broken the bank showing dogs. Bring a handler a really
good one or heck even a decent one and they'll finish it lickety-split. I
don't have "judges" but I have learned over the years who appreciates what I
like and who to avoid. Have learned which judges will "do" for friends and
look at the wrong end of the leash. No different than business.
But speaking of dues...I guess have paid them. I studied and watched and
then started winning...my 2nd litter produced my first homebred CH and what
a producer HE was. (First litter was more of a German working line).
American lines a mess? Maybe some who have doubled and tripled up on
certain dogs. No worse than some German lines as you well know and the white
breeders have their problems too. Do your homework no matter.

who consistently win in the breed ring. They are supported by their
handler/breeders/ judges. Unless you can afford to get on this
"merry-go-round" and spend lots of money "paying your dues" you are not

The majority of us will go on selling our puppies as pets, competing in
performance or UKC shows and the entries at AKC shows will continue to
shrink. Nothing will change, and no one will care.
Most of the white breeders have already proven they are more
conscientious when it comes to health testing then the regular breeders and
I see quite a few with titles at both ends ...UKC up front, and AKC behind.
I don't know what they sell their puppies for, but I imagine they do pretty
well.
As for the coats, in time they will follow the white breeders. They
already have quite a following as far as I can tell.
So, the rest of us "little people" will sit back and watch as the people
who screech the loudest now continue to breed themselves into a corner and
we count our blessings we aren't dealing with the health issues the
popular
breeders are dealing with, As every year that goes by we will continue to
explain to our puppy people that AKC is the only registry who DNA's
parentage and that is why we stick with them and we will agree with them
the AKC show dogs are a mess. Meanwhile, the german breeders will continue
to draw crowds to their venues and get more money for their puppies. I
guess when you look at things this way, the handwriting is on the
wall....
