Um, the UKC changed the GSD breed standard because they (UKC) do not want the
AKC show GSDs competing and being bred who are over-done, or who have weak
pasterns or hocks, or bad feet. UKC is against the sloping topline, and steep
croups.
My white boy has won over several AKC champions, in the UKC ring.
BTW - my puppy buyers want a pet, not a show dog, and they could care less if
white is ever back in the AKC show ring. I do not EVER advertise, or claim
white is rare.
And, even some AWSA members breed white to colored dogs. And, UKC White
Shepherds are bred to UKC German Shepherds! The UKC still allows pups from
these crossings to register as UKC German Shepherds.
There are TWO (2) clubs against breed separation, and ONE (1) club for it. The
founding AWSA members broke off from the WGSDCI, when the WGSDCI members voted
against breed separation.

I care as I know others do too. Breeding to the GSDCA Standard is what
every breeder should do and white has been forbidden from the beginning of the
breed.
Reason whites have the masking gene so you never know what color they really
are
or
will pass on.
Selling puppies is the main reason we should not want blues, livers, whites,
Pandas-Piebald
being continued to be bred. Think of it this way many puppy buyers might want
as they believe
a rare color in a breed but they are not rare. When they find this out in the
end most of these dogs
end up in shelters and rescues. The caring breeder that breeds to the Standard
stands behind
their dogs as they are not puppy mill breeders mass producing for color.
Now the breeders you mention breed White Shepherd Dogs and yes they do the
Health Testing
and keep records. These dogs have been bred to white-white dogs for
generations
and should
be able to have their own separated breed like the FCI allows.
UKC and AKC both can have great GSDs showing in both and guess what they do get
their Championships
in both. These are of the GSDCA Standard black and tans with no white in the
background. If you have a great
dog does not matter as you can place with or without a hander.
