The GSD Ranks 2nd with AKC so where are all the dogs?  If every breeder and
owner
feels the way you do as apparently they do I guess things are not going to
change.  The
GSD will continue to regress at the All-Breed Shows as the other breeds
flourish.  I would
not expect any breeder or owner to show their GSD in front of a judge they knew
did not
like their dog.  Unless you get out and go to All Breed Shows, how would you
know if they
did or not?  After all you meet very pleasant people of every other breed out
there competing.

I agree Carolyn, unfortunately they do not always follow the standard. They
pick 1 thing that they deem the most important, like expression.

The reason I do not go to many all breeds is most all breed judging is not
good (my opinon ) and part of that is lack of knowledge but also most of
the  rings are way to small for a dog to look their best.  Off times it is the
one that stacks the best wins.....

HOWEVER there are some really good all breed judges.

Judge by  the standard ?  I had one last month bring them out to face her,

silly little noises and gave the win to the worst (according to the

To promote  your GSD breed so others can see them.  Winning is not
everything
promotion of the breed you love is.  If you feel the judge  does not place
your
dog for lack of knowledge of the breed that is  not always the case.  There
are lots
of AKC judges that use to  breed GSD's.

If it is a AKC show the judge is going  by their  standards.

About every three or four  years I forget this, and enter an all-breed. It
does not take long to  remember why I don't do  that.
