[ SHOWGSD-L ] An observation

I watched a Great Dane specialty several weeks ago. Their veterans classes
went from 6-8 years and from 8-10 years. I was struck by how old and decrepit
the dogs in the 6-8 class looked. They looked as old as my friend's 13 year
old GSD. My River, who will be 8 in May, still looks goods still runs and
jumps. (Thanks Darnell for letting me have him.) These Danes were a year
younger and could barely make it around the ring. Does anyone know if this is
typical of Danes?
