Without a doubt it is wrong for a dog to bite it's owner, the hand that feeds it. But you miss the point still. THIS WOMAN DID NOT TEACH HER DOG THAT IT WAS WRONG TO BITE HER. And thus the dog bit her, to death. sheila Wasatchgld@xxxxxxx wrote: In a message dated 8/20/2006 10:55:17 A.M. In my Personal opinion..."There is not now, nor has there ever been any valid excuse, for "a Dog to Bite the Kind Hand that Feeds it !!!!!!! The only solution is a one-way trip to the Vet. asap!!!!!!!!!! ------------------------------ I've got to agree with this, too. Other than small puppies (who are still learning the rules), the only time I've ever been bitten by my own dogs has been when I've been breaking up a fight - and then they release immediately when they feel they've hit the wrong target. I've never had worse than a bruise or small puncture wound the few times that's happened. I have to know that I can give a correction, take away a toy, or even grab something out of their mouths if they have something I don't think is safe, and not need to worry about the dog's reaction. And I have done all of the above! It's not just breeds with an aggressive reputation that do this. A coworker I was talking to last week showed me her arm that was covered with multiple large scars. She got them 12 years ago, breaking up a fight between her two Border Collie/Golden Retriever mixes. One actually redirected his attack to her when she interferred. She told me she had over 120 stitches. I was pretty horrified and didn't tell her that no GSD I've ever owned would have done that!
