CNN did an expose about the abuses in the slaughterhouses quite some time ago.
The undercover work was done by Farm Sanctuary, Watkins Glen NY. The footage
would have made a strong man cry. They have no idea why these poor creatures
are "downed"...and to think that it is acceptable to torture them by attempting
to pick them up with forklifts, or hit them with cattle prods is beyond
barbaric.
Aside from the OBVIOUS...that sick animals are getting into our food
chain...it is just another glimpse into brutality that is at large in our
country; brutality that is going unchecked.
