[ SHOWGSD-L ] AKC...They Are Involved!!!

According to Paul they are very involved. What I'm suggesting is that
they become more BROADLY involved by getting 'dog oriented' Organizations
get more involved. We have multi million dollar dog Companies, Vet
Colleges, Vets, Grooming shops, Kennels, Parent Clubs for many other
breeds, hunting Clubs, Guide Dog Org... It just seems to me that AKC could
contact these groups and organizations for help and be listened to a lot
easier and more than a small breeder like most of us.

AKC does yeoman's work when it comes to this situation. Sure...we could all
fault someone for something but let's take stock of their entire
perspective.
AKC has done a lot to unite the factions. Each month they publish a pamphlet
on prospective dog legislation in each state. All our PClub members need to
do to be included is ask. OR...someone ask for them. I am going to send a
request tonight to AKC legislative division and request that publication be
sent several Officers and Board Members. That way they will see the
excellent work AKC is ALREADY doing and hopefully...support those efforts
even more.
Throwing rocks only works if it hits the people that SHOULD be hit...AKC
isn't one of them.
