[ SHOWGSD-L ] 2013 WUSV trials

I read about the 2013 WUSV tirals being hosted by the GSDCA in either the
minutes or a Board-o-gram several years ago. No, I don't recall which ones
and I'm not going to go back and search for it :-), but it WAS discussed in
the minutes. Since I have been to the trials, I was familiar with the
subject matter. Perhaps if people weren't aware of what the WUSV is or what
the trial is, they would have just "read over" it and it didn't stick in
their minds.
I also have a vague memory of this being discussed on this list several
years ago when it was first approved. People were talking about what a great
thing it was that the GSDCA was going to host it in the U.S. for the first
time....then the UScA (United Schutzhund club of America) jumped in and
hosted it in 2008 (it was an "open" year....the WUSV needed a country to
volunteer to host it and UScA jumped on it). The GSDCA had put in to host in
2013 because it was in conjunction with our centennial celebration. It IS
an honor to host this, and should be a fantastic event. Whether this is
"your thing" or not, I highly recommend going and appreciating the training
that goes into these dogs. These are the "best" Schutzhund dogs from each
country....take advantage of this opportunity to go and see what each country
brings!
