Send it back to S&W thwy will fix it or replace it. Their customer service is great.

Not a dumb question. The slide will not come off the frame. I can only move it back about half an inch.
Also that steel case is "lapped" into the barrel's rifling. Barrel might be bulged. Can't tell.
"Bricked" as in "turned it into a paperweight".
