Hi Dan,

Nice job! Mikes are pretty inexpensive. You could get one that would do
the job for about $20 give or take. The difficulty might be just getting
out to get one. Could we help each other out? Maybe if someone is going
out, they could pick one up for someone else and get it to them? I realize
this might not always be possible. For those who are mikeless, let us know
what the trouble is. Maybe we can help each other so that all may
participate more fully. Thanks.

Subject: [sacate] Instructions for Installing TC Web Conference

As promised, this message contains the instructions for the installation of
TC Web Conference as well as for talking in the chat room.
I am putting the link that you will be going to at the end of these
instructions. This way you can decide whether you want to leave the message
open and refer back to it when you have the web page open; or whether you
want to take notes before you begin--whatever works best for you.

1. Please read all the numbered instructions in this message before going
to the link at the end.
2. Go to the link at the end of this message and press enter. You will be
taken to a web page which gives you an idea about what the chat room is.
You can skip that and go to the link on the page that says "enter the chat
room" and press enter.
3. After doing this, you'll be taken to a welcome page which explains a
little about the software. To clear up any confusion you may have, on that
page, they call it talkcom, but when you run the actual program, it is
called TC Web Conference.
4. Also on that page you will find a download button. Press enter on that
button and the process begins.
5. When you are asked if you want to run or save the software, press alt r
for run. The software will then begin to download. (Note: Leave this web
page open during the software installation. That way when the installation
is finished you can be right there and ready to log in.)
6. Following this, you will have the usual Microsoft dialog about running
the software. When you hear this dialog, press alt r again to run.
7. the software will install itself. (note: I already have the software
installed on my machine so I cannot remember whether or not there is a
license agreement. If so, agree to it.)
8. The installation will complete and there will be a finish button. Press
enter on it and you're ready to go.
9. After your software is installed and you are back on the chat room web
page, go to the link that says "click here to enter the room".
10. After doing this, you will see a log on screen. If you tab around the
screen, you will see fields for a user name and password. To enter the
room, simply go to the user name field and type your first name and press
enter.
11. Now you should be in the chat room. If you want to talk, press the
control key. You should hear a small beep.

If you encounter any problems or have questions, you can call me at 379-9341
or email me at

We have nine days from the time of this writing and I know we can do this.
