I just use the modern cat. nr. 12638 (plastic) or the metal equivalent from Leica today. The clip on instead of using the filter threads. Solves the lens hood problem, but the filters are still a head-ache. I've seen originals turn up on eBay reasonably often for a reasonable amount of money (considering it is a one-time purchase and not a consumable). I agree on all the positive things about the Summitar. The only (for me) draw back is that the bokeh is horrible when you shoot something at close range, wide-open. I don't know if horrible is the right word. It is unique in a not necessarily pleasant way. You would never use the word pleasant to describe it unless you negated it. But even that you get used to and learn how to use to your favor. 1/15 @ 2.0 http://www.dlridings.se/gallery/v/Shoebox/2007v4748/07v47-0001.jpg.html The next two are also with the same lens, also wide-open.
