Carlos, you also characterized Mapplethorpe's work as personal sexual
preference, which is not his full body of work( same thing I did with
Avedon).
Plus you appear to be unaware of Dianne Arbus' work which you were in favour
of since she was a Rollei user.
I don't know much of Avedon's work because I find it uninteresting. I recall
in the 90's his 8 x 10 were on exhibition in many places. I saw his work in
the photographers gallery in Derby England, and was very unimpressed with
what was achieved with 10 by 8.
Joel-Peter Witkin's use of large format Polaroid 8 by 10 on the other hand
was masterly.
If you like Avedon's work-good for you for.
