I agree. The big guy can lose money because his pockets are deep and drive everyone else out of business. Without the big guy, a smaller enterpirse may well be able to make it because there will be a market for its products there.


I was just thinking of horses. The car replaced horses, but people still ride, and there are lots of companies that supply saddles, etc.

Hey so what? There are still alternatives, Ilford seems pretty stable, and as long as there are those willing to buy film, there will be film to buy. I'm with Marc - there's a business opportunity here for the right group of people (with the right kind of money). With a giant like Kodak out of the way, a small sustainable enterprise could make a decent living and then some.
