There was almost nothing on the ground on Sunday morning. I reckon we
have had 60 inches since Sunday evening. Right now the snow is
falling so thick I cannot see my next-door-neighbors' houses from the
windows. Another 30-40 inches is in the forecast for the next 36
hours. There is precedent for this kind of thing - the five-day
Oswego Blizzard of 1966 dumped 50 inches, or nearly half its total
snowfall, in its last 24 hours. The old-timers are still talking that
one up. This one is not projected to be quite as bad, but who knows?
Now, back to shoveling . . .
