Hi Eric, Sigh. You should understand that requiring auto insurance is a completely different issue than requiring someone to purchase health care. If you don't understand that, well, nothing more need be said. Are you opposed to mandatory car insurance? If you didn't have insurance, and people simply paid the doctors for their services, like in every other business (auto and liability insurance are another story), the costs would be an entirely different story. A whole industry is skimming off the top of healthcare, and is now being mandated. I used to be able to get catastrophic insurance. It cost me $80/month. I simply paid for all my doctors visits (with a discount because they didn't have to go through insurance) my self. Worked great. For me. It should be my choice to get insurance or not. Not requiring me to pay a profit to a particular industry. Health care is NOT the same as insurance. Take insurance out of the picture when talking about health care. That hasn't been done, and that's the major problem I have with these discussions.
