Rolleiflex 3.5F - Ser. No. 3,5F 2212699 - This one will accept a Bay II cap
on the viewing lens only...the taking lens appears to be too far down to let
the cap fall over it.

Yes, all T's, Rolleimagic, and New Standard
cameras use Bayonet I. Rollei Standards use
2.85mm slip-on accessories on both lenses, while
all 3.5 models from the Automat, Type I, to the
3.5E use Bayonet I on the taking lens but 2.8.5mm
slip-accessories on the viewing lenses. Someday,
I'll run down the saga of the Rolleicords and Baby Rolleis.
Your 3.5F needs a Bayonet II lens cap with a 45mm
abstand. Simply ask the guy from whom you are
purchasing the cap to measure from the center of
the one to the center of the other cap -- 42mm is
a tad more than 1 5/8", while 45mm is a tad over 1 3/4".
Remember those ads for Benson & Hedges 101
cigarettes? "A silly millimeter longer", the
jingle ran. Well, this is a matter of "a silly three millimeters".
