last 4 Corvettes were automatics, and my new (used) SL500 has an
automatic transmission.
In recent years, I came to my senses have replaced the need for a
manual transmission with the need for a great sound system with a
multi-disk CD changer! Listening gives me much more pleasure than
shifting, and I get around just fine.
To be honest, if I did a lot of driving in a large city I'd probably
want an automatic. But where I live there are few stoplights. Less
than ten in the town I live in now, and only one in the whole county
I used to live in. Without those damned stoplights everywhere you
can really drive.
