That's what I thought when conservatory popped into my head. But hey, why not. Think big. And toning it down a bit was why I thought of The Little Conservatory. I know the word you're looking for regarding similar beginings to words, but it eludes me at the moment. If it's out in the country then, well, how about The Country Conservatory? Let's see. Add a coffee shop and call it Coffee at the Conservatory. ha! For the high browe folks it would have to be the Cognitive Conservatory of Music. And if Ramys a tough taskmaster then it would be the Cold-blooded Conservatory or the Conservatory of Condemnation. heh!
But seriously now. You might want to think of your location. Like The County Durham Conservatory. Or maybe think of a common bird, flower, or tree, such as The Conifer Conservatory of Music. And if vocals are your main thing, then perhaps something like The Choral Conservatory.
Hope this ggets the creative juices flowing. Tom----- Original Message -----
I like that word Tom, sounds so learned and high brow 'grin'.Now if we could come up with another word that goes with music that starts with c, I know I'm hung up on what's the term used for words strung together that start with the same consanant? But the creative conservatory is probably too corny 'grin'.Well, if sweet water can call their machines creation stations, I guess we could say Ramy's creation conservatory, that doesn't sound bad. Hmmmm, what's another hip word that begins with c?Oh, this mangled, bastardized english language, so inadequate to express what we really want to say 'grin'?At 11:08 PM 12/6/2010, you wrote:No problem, Ramy. Looks like you're well on your way to coming up with a name. But just for the heck of it, what about calling it a conservatory? That's a name of a school for the fine arts. Something like Ramy's Conservatory, The Little Conservatory, Moustafa's Conservatory of Music? You could also substitute the name of the city you live in. For instance, I live in Charlton. So I might call it The Charlton Conservatory or The Charlton Conservatory of Music.Over here we tend to associate a conservatory with a university. But what the heck. Think big! smile. Or, let it be known in the name, like The Little Conservatory.Hth, Tom----- Original Message ----- From: "Ramy Moustafa" <moshtaqlealganna@xxxxxxxxx>To: <realmusicians@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 1:50 PM Subject: [realmusicians] Re: Renaming my studioHi sir Tom: Sorry for not replying but I sware that I didn't see ur message just now As for the teaching I'm teaching the theory, And hope I can put a name for all the things that I do. Now, onto the name. What exactly do you mean when you say you'll be teaching harmony? Vocalharmony or just harmoney theory in general? If it were just piano the names are endless. I'm just trying to think of something that will cover what youoffer. But to put hide away its too long I think? What's your opinion, and what is the best in English language, Ramy's records or Ramy's record? Also, willl I put studio after it or not, Like Ramy's record studios? I know, kind of silly, but I couldn't resist. Music factory sounds too impersonal. And too generic, make it something that reflects you, and your vission of what the studio will be. But something not too long, and easy for folks to remember. Ramy's recording hide-away maybe?
