The Buster image and the Stormux image were burned to 2 separate Micro SD card
so o the man from Abilitynet ran configure-Stormux on the card with the Stormux
files and the commandconfigure-Stormux was not recognised and even trying to
launch Orca before configure-stormux didn’t work.
The Pie got to a command prompt which showed sh or ssh according to the man
from Abilitynet but we got no further.
Storm Dragon suggested I tried the test image which he said supported HDMI
which I did so the only thing I can think of trying is to download and burn or
flash the Stormux image which is not the test image.
The card with Buster just kept checking for certain files so it just looped so
it didn’t even get to the setup process, let alone reboot or whatever it is
supposed to do before verbally prompting to press CTRL, Alt Space for the Orca
shortcut, it didn’t even get to the WI-FI connection to even allow me to
install Orca,
The furthest the man from Abilitynet got was with going through the setup for
Bullseye only we had a Desktop with no Orca so of course Alt F2 didn’t work as
Orca wasn’t there, he went to install apps and tried to check and every file
relating to Orca and that didn’t work and pressing CTRL Alt Space didn’t work
obviously because it just took my Sighted helper to the Desktop. He went on
YouTube and brought up a Dire Straights video which played because sound came
out of the Speakers which he had to connect into the small monitor which can be
used as a touchscreen so I am puzzled as sound obviously works.
The helper has been out 5 times so far these last few weeks, it will be his 5th
time this Friday.
The first 3 times were just to connect the Pie as it is intergrated into a UK
keyboard and I was missing cables to power the monitor and enable the
touchscreen as my desk my Pie is on and my TV are at opposite ends of my
Livingroom and even if I could have run a cable between my Samsung TV and the
Pie, my girlfriend would not have been pleased if I had interrupted her TV
viewing by maybe changing ports from my Virgin TV box to my Raspbery Pie so I
suppose I bought the monitor for convenience and so it wouldn’t take up the
entire space on my desk only because my Pie is invaded in a keyboard, I had to
buy missing cables as extra like an HDMI with a Micro HDMI to go into the port
of my Raspberry Pie.
The last weeks including this Friday is being taken up with just trying to get
Orca running so I can do what I need to do.
