Hello Dirk,

could it be that the brake leverage is bigger with 20" wheels than with 26"? It seems plausible to me that it's easier to lock up a small wheel than a bigger one.

Yes, indeed - who bought the GP2?

Hello Jürgen,

To me the rear brake is very important as a drag brake for long descents and for all non-emergency stops. I use an old cantilever brake with a shortened lever and - like Olaf - prefer hard pads. Never had a lock up or a wipe out so far. My front V-brake only comes into play when quick reaction is needed.

Serge told me that he has no problem either on his bike with the rear brake
locking the wheel. May be on my bike the weight distribution is worse, or big
apples have worse grip.
